We have expanded our in-house non-destructive testing (NDT) capability with a new HUATEC HMP-6000 wet fluorescent magnetic particle inspection system. It is a horizontal bench unit with a darkened inspection booth, used to find surface and near-surface flaws (cracks, seams, laps) in ferromagnetic oilfield components. The system applies both circular (head-shot) and longitudinal (coil) magnetization. An independent metrology institute calibrated the magnetizing current on site in September 2026, up to 5,000 A circular and 2,250 A longitudinal. Residual magnetism after demagnetization was ≤ 0.2 mT. The unit comes with a complete set of calibrated supporting equipment: Parker DA-400S Contour Probe yoke (AC / half-wave DC) for field and local inspection Spectro-UV CLA-100Z UV-A LED / white-light lamp, compliant with ASTM E3022 Spectro-UV AccuPRO XP-2000 radiometer/photometer, NIST-traceable, for checking UV-A irradiance and visible light HGS-10C digital gaussmeter (Hall-effect teslameter) for measuring field strength and residual magnetism System performance standards: Ketos ring (ASTM E709), MG-50 magnetic pie gauge, Chemetall Type I flux indicators, and QQI shims KSC-230 / KSC-430 (SAE AS5371) Magnaflux Magnaglo® 14HF fluorescent magnetic ink, certified to AMS 3045 / 3046 The whole setup supports inspection to ASTM E1444/E1444M, ASTM E709 and ASME Section V, Article 7. CPTC can now machine, inspect and release critical components under one roof, which shortens lead times and keeps quality traceable for our OEM customers.
